Sunday September 28 2008, 2pm
A thrilling program of favourite standards and original compositions that will have you swooning through a delightful Sunday afternoon!
We are thrilled to announce a very special guest for our next Sunday Session. Stephen Newcomb is Head of Jazz piano at the Queensland Conservatorium and a senior lecturer in Jazz studies. He undertook a Master of Music at the prestigious Manhattan School of Music and is widely recognised as one of Australia 's finest jazz pianists.
In a rare chance to hear him free of charge, Stephen will perform on our new flagship performance piano. Debuting at this recital will be the Mason and Hamlin concert grands. Mason and Hamlin are America 's finest piano, were the choice of superb pianists such as Maurice Ravel and Sergei Rachmaninoff and in the U.S are the only serious competitor on the concert stage. Gold Coast Pianos and Music are now the proud Australian distributors for these magnificent instruments and this recital will be your first chance to hear them live!
